Filmmaker & Visual Artist exploring grief, desire, and the unseen emotional weight of human experience.
Pavel Rosas is a Mexican filmmaker and visual artist based in Mexico City. Holding a degree in Communication and Digital Media from Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM), he works across directing, production, cinematography, editing, and visual development. His practice moves between narrative film, music-driven work, and image-making that explores grief, desire, and destiny.
Drawing inspiration from literary intimacy and atmospheric cinema, Pavel’s visual language is defined by a grounded, ominous surrealism. He builds images through a meticulous interplay of light, shadow, and texture, using the frame not only to tell a story, but to evoke the emotional undercurrents that move quietly beneath it.
Across his work, fantastical elements such as vampirism, immortality, and altered states are not treated as spectacle, but as subtle lenses through which to examine vulnerability, longing, and the invisible weight of human emotion. His films seek moments where beauty and unease coexist, and where the interior life of his characters can be felt as much as seen.
