Pavel Rosas is a Mexican filmmaker and visual artist currently based in Tokyo. With a degree in Communication and Digital Media from Tecnológico de Monterrey, his work spans directing, producing, cinematography, editing, photography and creative development across independent film, music-driven projects, editorial work and digital content.
His practice is drawn to intimacy, atmosphere, and the emotional spaces between people. Through light, shadow, texture, and restrained surrealism, he explores grief, desire, memory, vulnerability, and connection, often using fantastical or symbolic elements as extensions of his characters’ inner lives.
His recent short film 21:21 (2026) has been selected by Shorts México, FOTOGENIA, and the Tokyo Lift-Off Film Festival. Across both independent and collaborative work, he approaches each project from concept through execution with a strong emphasis on visual coherence, emotional storytelling, and image-making.
